Myth: There was duct tape placed over Caylee's mouth.

Let's talk about the myth that "nobody would put duct tape over their child's mouth if they died from an accident." In court, evidence was shown that duct tape was on the BAG, not over Caylee's mouth, and it was three small pieces. In addition to this, by the time Caylee was found, she didn't have a mouth, only bones, which had been tampered with by Roy Kronk. The tape was never placed over where her mouth was.

The idea that there was ever "duct tape over Caylee's mouth" was a theory, fabricated by the prosecution who were trying to convince the jury, media, and protest mob that Casey smothered Caylee to death. Unfortunately for them, duct tape just laying in a bag with a couple of hairs attached to it doesn't mean it was ever on Caylee's mouth.

The only thing this evidence proves is that someone wrongfully disposed of a body. Casey was not charged with wrongfully disposing of a body, she was charged with murder, and a body in a bag does not prove murder over accident.

People are emotional right now, and keep perpetrating the MYTH that "little Caylee was suffocated with duct tape and had her lifeless body carelessly wrapped in a garbage bag and tossed in a swamp" because it helps them to grasp to meaning in a pointless death. Even though there is no proof whatsoever, just prosecution conjecture, that duct tape was used to smother, rather than just wrap the bag closed.

Vigilante justice gone-wild continues. Not only have there been threats on Casey's life from mentally deranged women stalking the courthouse (perfect mothers, obviously), but also on those of the jurors. There is now talk from pundits demanding that the jurors' names be released. How wonderful. Now, instead of just one group of wackjobs camped outside the Anthony's residence, there will be multiple death threats made by middle-aged women screaming "JUSTICE FOR CAYLEE!!" stalking jurors who are just doing their civilian duties under the law. We have 12-17 people, none of whom committed a crime or had anything to do with the decisions that Casey made which ruined her and her family's lives. It is one thing to opine about Casey's bad decisions, but to harass and be enraged at 12-17 civilians doing their duty and following a judges orders, is beyond the pale.

The anger in this case stems from two factions:

1) Armchair Detectives. There is talk from Nancy Grace-sycophants saying that jurors should "stand up" and be "held accountable." Be accountable for what? Looking at only the evidence and not letting bad-mom-derangement take over their common sense? These jurors are people, from all walks of life - poor, educated, young and old - who were essentially drafted against their will and held captive away from their families for weeks. Why do they deserve such derision?

2) The media. They feel so slighted that they can't get a story from jurors who wish to remain private. Oh, boo hoo! God forbid not everyone would want to speak to them and bare their souls, just to be trashed and maligned during the edit cut. Is it any wonder? Jennifer Ford is already afraid for her life, safety, and believes that media are following her to her home. Why would any juror in their right mind want to come forward in all this madness and hostility? What person would even want to serve on a jury ever again, if they faced media contempt and animosity from psychotic armchair detectives?

This is, plain and simple, anger over a lack of control. The protesters and media believe that Casey has been so wiley (with that smirk on her face) and slipped from their hateful grasp, and it makes them furious. The jurors are the next in line available to feel their wrath. Interestingly, the judge, who only sentenced Casey to six more days (which could have been a year), escapes unscathed. His lofty position in this drama apparently means he does not have to answer for his decisions. The jury is a much easier target.

The Salem Witch Trials have apparently been long, long forgotten. At that time, if you didn't believe the accused was a witch, then you were accused of being a witch. There was no middle ground. The Anthony jury, resistant to the mob mentality, fits the bill of refusing to be pigeon-holed into the media template. Therefore, they must be destroyed. But the mob should put down the pitchforks and torches, take a deep breath and ponder: Would Caylee want you to hurt almost 20 people to avenge her death from unknown reasons?

The jury got it right.

One of three things happened to Caylee:

1. Casey murdered her;
2. It was an accident that was Casey’s fault;
3. It was an accident that was her parents’ fault.

The evidence shown did not prove which of the three possibilities it could have been. Therefore, how could Casey be prosecuted?

An alternate juror, Russell Huekler, made several important points:

- The duct tape was not wrapped around Caylee’s head. It was on the trash bag and consisted of three small pieces. This doesn’t differentiate between murder and an accident. Improper disposal of a body? Yes, but that’s not what Casey was charged with.
- Friends of Casey testified that she was a good, loving mother. He never saw evidence that she was abusive or a bad mother.
- Chloroform residue can come from cleaning supplies.
- Partying does not make someone a murderer.
- The family is dysfunctional and was probably involved, so all the blame cannot be placed on Casey with a disproportionate sentence.
- The jury did not consider sexual abuse in their verdict.

But why would Casey search for chloroform? What nobody mentions is that her ex-boyfriend put a photo with the words “win her over with chloroform” on his Myspace page before the searches happened on the Anthony home computer. Casey likely would have been scared that her boyfriend would have resulted to violence with her and wanted to know what chloroform was. If anyone’s computer search history was scoured, it’s likely that almost everyone’s would include something “incriminating.” I have done searches for serial killers on my computer, but I’m not a serial killer. God forbid I get charged with anything – GUILTY!

I personally think that Caylee’s death was an accident that was Casey’s fault, and the parents helped her to cover it. Remember the words of George Anthony’s mistress: He said it was “an accident that snowballed.” Casey was scared because she didn’t want to get in trouble for recklessness (which obviously backfired), so she tried to hide that Caylee was dead. The mom didn’t know, and called 911 about the “smell” because she was worried that Caylee was gone. Casey then tells her parents about the accident, and the family attempts their coverup to protect Casey. Mom then says that the “smell” was rotting pizza (which is consistent with an expert opinion). The father, a former detective, knows that he can make it look like a homicide by putting Caylee in the ditch, but happened to wrap her in the same manner that the Anthony family had buried their previous pets.

The prosecution did not show that Casey was a bad mother, only that she liked to party. In the photos, it is likely that Casey was experiencing PTSD or lack of emotion due to abuse. I don’t know. Yes, it was wrong of her. But partying doesn’t mean she killed anyone. People who aren’t murderers have strange reactions all the time. Some people don’t cry at their family members’ funerals. It only means that they deal with emotion differently than most people.

Casey is a liar, and was rightfully convicted of lying to police. But lying does not make someone a killer. Due to her fear of being accused of negligence, she led police on a wild goose chase and should be punished. She has spent almost the requisite four years in jail, which is fair. But Casey never lied in court, unlike her parents.

We have a unique situation when a woman is accused of killing her children. Some are guilty, but all are assumed guilty. Why do you think that these cases receive so much media attention? Men have killed their children before, but there is a “special place in hell” (Shepard Smith) for a woman accused of the same. In our society, it is unfathomable that a woman could be emotionally detached from her children, and for this she should be punished, whether in the courts or in the media, with the worst possible punishment. Regardless if Casey was or wasn’t emotionally detached (the evidence shows she loved her daughter) it was assumed that she was a cruel, heartless mother, because there was the “body in a ditch” story. Even though there’s no proof that it was Casey and not George (or some random other person) who put Caylee there. Women have pressure on them to be the "perfect mother," and there is retribution if they fail. Therefore a media witch hunt is appropriate. Niel Boortz has said that Casey is a tramp and should pose for Penthouse. Why wasn’t OJ called a tramp and told to pose for Playgirl?

Enough with the shrill, middle-aged women with torches and pitchforks (Nancy Grace, I’m talking to you) screaming “JUSTICE FOR CAYLEE!!” There are currently message boards about this topic with a gamut of threats towards Casey, telling her that “Karma is a bitch” and “She better watch her back.” It is true vigilante justice gone wild, against a woman who was proven not guilty by the courts, from people who were not privy to the evidence that jurors were. The comments directed towards the jurors for being “dumb hicks,” and comments deriding the whole state of Florida are equally appalling.

The jury is not to blame – the prosecution is to blame for dwelling on the death penalty, and presenting the weak “proof” of a dead body “smell.” It is likely that if they had tried Casey for negligence, she would have been found guilty. But murder? Where is the proof that Casey herself murdered Caylee and placed her body in the ditch? Oh, duct tape matched to the house, you say. How do you know George didn’t do it? Manslaughter – no proof (The parents could have been responsible for the accident.) Child abuse – Casey’s friends say she was a loving mother, and video/photos of Casey with Caylee show the same.

Let me ask you this: If it was an accident, why does there need to be “JUSTICE!!!” at all? Is it justice to put someone to death without proper evidence?

Where does the money come from to pay for the White House chef and all the food he prepares? Our tax dollars. So Obama is considering giving free food to people in exchange for campaign donations. - Thinks Kentucky is closer to Arkansas than Illinois;
- Bumbles every time he's off the teleprompter;

And Biden can say:

...and NOBODY CARES... cue crickets.

Why are feminine women "flaky"? Running for president is a man's job, obviously. Hillary is fine, because she dresses in pantsuits and is therefore androgynous, so there is never an attack on her appearance or intelligence. There is prejudice & misogyny from the liberal elite (supposedly "feminists") towards beautiful, attractive, accomplished women. That's why they can't stand that Palin was right about Revere. We can't have a feminine woman who is intelligent and capable of being president, unless she is a democrat, but unfortunately there aren't any feminine democrat women. Yesterday on my way to lunch, I passed one of the homeless guys in that area, with a sign that read 'Vote Obama, I need the money.' Once in the restaurant my waiter had on a 'Obama 08' tee shirt.When the bill came, I decided not to tip the waiter and explained to him while he had given me exceptional service, that his tee shirt made me feel he obviously believes in Senator Obama's plan to redistribute the wealth. I told him I was going to redistribute his tip to someone that I deemed more in need--the homeless guy outside. He stood there in disbelief and angrily stormed away.I went outside, gave the homeless guy $3 and told him to thank the waiter inside, as I had decided he could use the money more The homeless guy looked at me in disbelief but seemed grateful. As I got in my truck, I realized this rather unscientific redistribution experiment had left the homeless guy quite happy for the money he did not earn, but the waiter was pretty angry that I gave away the money he did earn.Well, I guess this redistribution of wealth is going to take a while to catch on, with those doing the work.

I personally think polls are meaningless, but the liberals who worship them are all of a sudden backtracking.

First, Bush had a low approval rating, but the fact that Congress' was lower was irrelevant. Now, pundits like Andrew Romano are struggling to explain McCain's 10 point jump in the USA/Gallup poll:

"While most polling outfits at this stage focus solely on registered voters (i.e., anyone who answers the phone and is registered to vote), Gallup has also turned its attention to likely voters."

And what about those "likely" voters in 2004, who promoted Kerry in droves, but didn't even get out of bed on election day? That must not count.

Yet the most ironic reason given by Romano is one that is always used in liberals' favor, until now:

Married to her high school sweetheart. Car-pooling supermom who went from PTA activist to mayor of her tiny (population 9,000) Alaskan town. Fisherman, sportswoman, hunter. Speaks truth to power in a state corrupted by oil. Has a son headed to Iraq. A woman who made the decision to carry to term a baby she knew to be developmentally disabled.

Jeez! Cat fight! Jealous much?? On top of this, Palin is smart and confident, experienced, beautiful, feminine... The list goes on.

Look around you, Susan. Does anybody notice which party has all the hot women? Cindy & Meaghan McCain, all the Palin women, Laura Bush & the Twins. Conservative Republicanism does wonders for your beauty, rather than the festering jealous anger of liberalism.
